Common Sense and Logical Reasoning

At 75 years of age, I am a retired U.S. Navy Enlisted man who also retired from state government as a Manpower Specialist.  While in the Navy I worked for a high level group of people in and out of the Pentagon who ran Naval Aviation.  One of those gentlemen, my favorite boss, used "common sense and logical reasoning" as his controlling principle.  Over the years I have tried to emulate his philosophy as best I can.  Currently I am having trouble dealing with today's political situation as it deals with me and my extended family and I have come to the conclusion that both political parties have to go.  There is no question that my generation will be the last of the great Americans.  Given what is currently happening politically and economically the programs that took us out of the First Great Republican Depression are being dismantled and I hate to think what will happen to my children and their offspring.  We have lost America to a group of political crazies who think they are smart enough to take our society apart.  Nothing today is based on common sense only political dogma.  Maybe this country needs a new Continental Congress that would preclude any American who has had close dealings with either political party--hopefully a group of outstanding Americans who could deal with our society with common sense and logical reasoning.
